yes the shitty knife tool. the default keybind is K, but even modifying the keybind to something more convenient i still have to press enter every time time to make an incision. that is just inefficient as fuck. when you work with low poly models you are using the cut tool 80% of time to work with complex low poly meshes. Pressing enter everytime is just cancer.

>> No.687300

>>687299
>yes the shitty knife tool. the default keybind is K
If you don't like K just rebind it? This has nothing to do with the software at all.

>but even modifying the keybind to something more convenient i still have to press enter every time time to make an incision
What would you have?

>When you work with low poly models you are using the cut tool 80% of time to work with complex low poly meshes
Normal people don't do that, no.
Still, the knife tool is very effective and does its job nicely.

>> No.687306

You can press the spacebar instead of enter, does the same.

i still have to press a keybind after every incision, its still ineffective. Max is like the only software that does it right, not suprised since its geared to people who know how to model, not like this retard >>687300
with max all you have to do is select the tool, make as many incisions are you need and right click when youre done. and continue to make incisions because it doesnt leave the cut tool mode until you switch to a different tool.

>with max all you have to do is select the tool, make as many incisions are you need and right click when youre done. and continue to make incisions because it doesnt leave the cut tool mode until you switch to a different tool
That's literally slower than in Blender, though.
In Blender you hit K, make your cuts, hit enter and it's done and you're back to your basic tools. To engage more cutting, hit K again. This way you're instantly ready to do other things, and you're also instantly ready to do more cuts (by hitting K with your free hand).
In Max you have to enter/exit the tool itself, which is just a slower workflow.
It's also an extremely minor thing to be autismal about. Is that little difference the reason you refuse to try Blender? What kind of retarded assburger are you?

>> No.687343

Blender doesn't even generate seamless texture thought. Unless you go full retard and bake it on a torus.

>Max is like the only software that does it right
This, I hate the way the knife tool works in Blender and Maya.

>> No.687360

Blender as a modeler is comparable with Maya, even if it lacks some basic (and not so basic) features. But Maya is still fairly behind Max as a modeling software.

People need to be more aware of how precious and fleeting life is, how quickly time passes. Perhaps then they would be less inclined to use Blender.

>> No.687403

>>687339
what lol its not slower, let me explain again, in max you select the cut tool, make incisions, and done, from here you can continue using the tool OR right click again and you leave the cut tool mode and you go back to the sub object selection you were last at(vertex, edge or face).

The fucking difference is that blender doesnt give you the option to continue using the tool, it just stops after you hit enter. when in max i can just right click once more to leave the mode instead of moving my entire arm just to do one cut and having no option to continue making incisions, so instead i have to go through the trouble of pressing K again and continue and press enter again and again its fucking ridiculously slow.

>> No.687406

>>687344
>>687339

lol its like you think thats going to fix the problem, look at this video you fucking brianlets.
look at the amount of keybinds i had to press to make a new incision compared to max, and again if i wanted to leave the cut tool mode in max i simply hit right click again.

>>687403
prolly trolling but have you hit E during cut tool

>> No.687408

>>687407
yes i can read the fucking tooltip, again youre missing the problem. pressing E just makes a new line for that incision, at this point no incision has been made. it hasnt been made until you confirm it with enter. MAX confirms an incision when u hit right click and boom done move to the next incision boom right click. with pressing E in blender, all of those incisions are not confirmed until u press enter, which if you fuck up you have to redo all of them.

>> No.687409

>>687408
>>687407
and i forgot to mention the other double left mouse click to make a new cut, its all in the tooltips. but again thats not the problem im addressing here, its HOW those incisions are confirmed, its just awful on blender.
