START WITH GREASE PENCIL IN BLENDER

use meshes to draw on top of so you can get 3d

Use subdivision surface
Edge loops as much as possible.
If you want to simplify, dissolve whole edge loops.
When you extrude you have to undo twice, first to undo moving the new extrusion, and again to undo creating the extrusion.
Make sure it's not duplicate verts
The knife tool will fuck you up. Make sure no face has more than 4 verts.
A straight edge with a vert in the middle is 2 edges, you made an ngon.
Shade smooth, look up auto smooth normals.

Watch some tutorials and then ask any doubts you might have. We can't help you if you don't know the basics.

Just because no one else mentioned it, the easiest things to model there would be the bracelets, hearts, and collar. The hardest would be the hair or hands. Good luck anon.

dont sculpt form the very begining, learn what a 3d pipeline is and learn polymodeling first.

>what should i avoid
You should avoid wasting your time trying to find "the best" tutorials, fucking watch all of them.
The reality is at first you'll learn a lot no matter what you watch, then you'll learn less, then you'll spot errors in the tutorial and know a better way to do it but still learn a new thing, then you'll watch a non-tutorial goofin' around vid or speed sculpt by a master and learn exactly one new thing after watching them for 4 hours
Every time you learn a new thing it's a thing you wish you'd known months ago that would have saved you tons of effort.

is using these cheating ?

>> No.726816

No, its fine, but i would recommend you shelf them for a bit and learn anatomy first, do arm studies, then torso studies, then leg studies and so on, so when you get a job you take one of those block out models, edit shapes to fit your concept and then sculpt the muscles, fat or what ever, that way you don't have to start from a fucking clay ball all the time.

thanks for the awesome response i just wanna make flawless shit its very hard getting real info out here

Dont sweat it, its not that dificult, but to be good, or employable you need to learn all that stuff.
when you start with box modeling(poly) you learn about how polygons behave, learn to do basic shapes, then you go on to sculpting where you take those basic shapes and learn to carve them like clay and make more shapes, after all fo that time spent practicing and you have something you want to take into a renderer you need to learn retopology, where those things that you learned about box modeling come in handy. once you have a low poly shell you need to learn how to make uvs for your textures and materials and so on untill you get a great render with a good light set up to ad to your portfolio.

if you really like what shane olson does he has a shit tone of videos on yt and a few clases on a complete character pipeline, hes really good but i like dylan ekren stuff better.

As long as you could recreate a basic blockout like that yourself I don't see a problem with it. If you already have the skills, nothing wrong with using a time-saver.

theres so many to learn, i dont even know how to retopology my sculpt, im so dumb on shading/texturing/material.
ill try to focus on sculpting atm.
heck i dont even know how im going to sculpt the hair

its fine nothing is "cheating" in blender, the reason they discourge you from using these is because you wont learn blocking out if you dont do it your self

>I'd like to mostly make enviroments

The answer is more complicated than you might think. What kind of environments? If it's like Science fiction enviroments like ships, indoors, buildings, etc, any good hard edge modeling software will work. Blender, Modo, and so on, I've heard is good for that.

If it's outdoors, terrains and landscape, that's more organic and a bit harder. Houdini maybe?
