Thanks for letting us know you've never been to school. Professional orgs and clubs don't exist in a vacuum and require at least on faculty sponsor that must report their activities and justify their existence to the school. If the professional organizations aren't inviting industry and academic speakers, aren't promoting fellowships, scholarships, and grant opportunities, and are just generally wasting air and money, they stop existing.

Why the fuck are you pretending to know how anything actually works. If you want to mope around like a beaten dog because you're too lazy to seek out opportunities and too unreliable for people to trust you with anything important, that's your problem.
