because it's imaginary online money and it's a >fucking browser token, my Pajeet friend

I don't know, BAT ads aren't live yet and we're in a bear market. Most everything is dumping save for the "big news!" pump and dump scams.

BAT seems like an obvious thing to me. Brendan Eich created Mozilla, one of the most popular web browsers in the entire world. That should be enough of a reason not to doubt him, but to add to that, Brave is ALREADY faster than Chrome and Firefox, and blocks ads by default. Those are objective truths no matter how anyone spins it. Now he's planning on adding a cryptocurrency aspect to the browser as an essential part of the browser. That's too exciting and makes too much sense for me to pass up.

I love ERC20 tokens. ICO's were disastrous but hopefully we've moved beyond that and we can get some real useful coins creating cool cryptofocused ecosystems.

ETH is objectively so much more useful than BTC.

If you open a private window with TOR you wouldn't be able to post, and VPN is coming in the future I believe

as of now the main feature of Brave is that it's basically a faster Chrome with no ads that doesn't track or send your personal information back to Google for harvesting

Is this the most hated token on /biz/?

It has to be top 5, at the very least.

This is nothing. Wait until BAT has real, legitimate online use. Then we'll start to make it.

How so? KYC is completely optional. Wallets haven't been implemented yet but eventually you can just transfer BAT between your Brave wallet and elsewhere. Brave's whole point is to have access to as LITTLE information about its users as possible.

>Users who opt into Brave Ads will see privately-matched advertisements from the BAT network for which they will receive a share of ad revenue in BAT tokens. Since ad matching and delivery is performed by the browser entirely client-side with locally-running machine learning algorithms on locally-stored data, BAT Ads technology requires absolutely no user data collection or tracking.

As a BATman, you LINKies should be PRAYING that you stay as far away from Coinbase as possible... it's a fucking inside trading pump&dump death sentence in this bear market.

no official difference, I guess Token mostly refers to ERC20 coins. BAT is an ERC20 "token" on the ETH blockchain.

I guess for BAT "token" differentiates it because although the Basic Attention Token is on the block chain, currently all donations/expenditure on the Brave browser is done privately by the Brave team, and then officially done in monthly lump sums on the ETH blockchain.

BAT is in a weird place right now

I fucking love BAT. I think it's really bullish that BAT has an entire project put together with a legitimate team and VC funds behind it, yet /biz/ still shits on it every time it's posted here.

You can go back on Warosu and look through what /biz/ has said about specific cryptos in the past. So far /biz/'s track record for crypto that it supported is:
>PandaCoin
>Dogecoin
>ChainLink

Meanwhile, crypto that it hated:
>ETH

I don't know, you be the judge

Your default search engine is set to Google, you can change that. I think they recommend DuckDuckGo but you can change it in Settings if you scroll down. Keep in mind Brave is based off Chromium so things will look similar but are very different below the hood.

Right now you can purchased absolutely nothing with BAT, nor can you earn it. Brave isn't even version 1.0. Later this year you'll be able to earn BAT through toggling Ads on. For now you can just claim BAT through clicking that triangle in the top right and going to "rewards settings"

Download Brave.
Create your account using ToR tab.
Always use Brave to avoid being tracked by Google (they own YouTube and track you throughout their web)
Delete your cookies/history before logging in.

Added bonus: register your YouTube account with Brave and collect BAT from users.

It's literally the future and more people need to hop on board to take power away from bullshit big brother type media like Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
