honestly i got spoonfed my current job, got lucky as fuck to intern here and im just nice to everybody so i have a really good reputation

i dont even do anything too difficult, i get imposter syndrome on a daily basis. as far as skills it really depends where you want to end up, for me personally knowing Python and being comfortable on a Linux cmd line have proven to be extremely valuable skills relative to my peers. As far as standing up security tooling it's basically just reading documentation and following the steps

everything is shifting to the cloud so working on AWS certs is a great idea. truth be told i don't have a single fucking cybersecurity cert, and i only got my AWS CCP cert a few months ago. im working on the security specialty one now, and it's quite a bit more difficult. I only work in AWS occasionally in my current position but they're paying for all the training and the exam so i figured fuck it might as well get some free certs

you're in a good field, cybersecurity is in high demand and as long as you're half decent you'll be able to find a job pretty easily as more companies realize security is something to seriously consider
