coughed in my hands my whole life, never thought too much about it until all this. Just generally would be very uncomfortable about it if And have the habit of stifling my own sneezes.

Recently encountered someone who coughed down the front of their shirt just like the bottom of this pic. I can't believe this is suggested as a valid method. Would the shirt stop anything except big globs that are then smeared all over your front? Surely you'd be spraying microorganisms everywhere?
