Dev Protocol

https://medium.com/devprtcl/dev-protocol-incubator-launches-ef4f35940095

Just released its Incubator program, just one of these joining the program will be huge

Each quarter the Dev Protocol Treasury will stake DEV tokens for 20 crucial Open Source projects. These projects will accumulate yield, based on the current market’s APY, until the round ends. The Incubatees must join Dev Protocol to receive the funding. The Dev Protocol Treasury will receive a 7.50% OSS token fee for each Incubatee onboarded. Additionally, all Patron rewards earned by the Dev Protocol Treasury from the Incubator will be burned. The Incubator will scale Dev Protocol’s growth by delivering our core value proposition, funding, to our target audience.

Round One Details
Dev Protocol will be staking 30,000 DEV tokens for each project until June 5, 2021. Congratulations to the following projects for being accepted into Round One of the Dev Protocol

Incubator:
Signal, Python, WikiMedia Foundation, Prysm, Jekyll, Ether.js, 11ty, Rust, Rotki, WalletConnect, SigmaPrime’s Lighthouse, WomenWhoCode, ESLint, Snowpack, Vite, Web3j, BrightID, Deno, Umbra, and Prettier. These projects have provided immense value to the Open Source ecosystem. The Dev Protocol community looks forward to supporting your work!

Dev Protocol allows creators to tokenize open assets. Its main use case and focus is open source software (Github), but it could be expanded to other open services (Youtubers), open content (TradingView), music or other Artists. For the Github use case the OSS developers currently don't make anything off their packages. Furthermore, there’s no standard incentive model to align open asset creators and users. This is becoming a pressing issue as the world’s economy moves towards building open assets. A lot of these Open assets then stall due to lack of funding.

Dev Protocol solves these issues with their native token, staking pools, and inflation. Simply, creators authenticate their assets, users stake tokens, and both parties receive DEV tokens via inflation for staking. This sustainable model allows both creators and users to make money for supporting each other. The result is a standard for the transfer of value of open source assets.

Upon creating a Property on Stake Socials the OSS project also has the opportunity to create its own token. This can be used for anything from rewards incentives for stakers to governance of the project and can be given out or sold by the project.

Key upcoming events

- Release of Dev Yearn Vault

- The community voted to create the first ever OSS ETF. The team will be Implementing a Creator token fee of 5% which will be held by the Dev Protocol treasury to create an OSS ETF.

- Project onboarding program

- Exchange listing (expected)

The well respected Delphi Digital investment research has included Dev Protocol in it's Low to Mid Cap Developer activity : market cap ratio (DMR) over time comparison. This estimates that buying projects above a set threshold will provide roughly a x4 return over 6 months. Dev is constantly above this level.

The partnership with FISM will allow Dev to grow into the influencer Market once the OSS market has been captured.

Mircosoft Japan has tweeted about Dev twice in the last few months.

Staking Yeild of 25ish Percent is attractive.

Geyser Liquidity Program provides good rewards (30% Per Month atm) v the impermanent loss risk.

OSS tokenizing their projects by creating tokens which people value due to be being able to direct the priority of bug fixes or new functions/features is a really exciting development in creating an economic model around OSS.

Lots of announcements from the team recently. The team is very deserving of its high activity status.
In the latest update Khaos, Dev Protocols custom oracle which connects into Github, has been updated to allow it to connect to IPFS (InterPlanetary File System which is looking to replace http) and execute functions on IPFS. Developers can now use Khaos by writing their own oracle functions in TypeScript and deploying them to IPFS.

This allows the use and integration of Khaos to be even easier and more adoption for Dev.

Another step along the road, it's very impressive what they have managed in just 6 months.
