You're right, except new shorts entered all over the place. I think what happened yesterday was one small cohort of shorters with a basis around $40 getting btfo after seeing their positions crab with high borrow fees for a few weeks.
Funds that shorted at $400 didn't need to cover last night.
A "classic algo pnd" doesn't look like this.
Especially the AH crab-up and the opening gap up followed by dump, that's characteristic of the echo squeezes which is why I posted the Chesapeake chart.
This one is also very illustrative of the AH/opening/echo pattern.
People too desperate to call this a pnd haven't studied squeeze mechanics enough. Mostly because the muh squozin crowd that showed up hasn't studied anything either, you're right not to give them the time of day but the muh all powerful retail-driven pnd crowd is just as wrong.

look, you can keep being baited by an infinite squeeze. But I'm just going to sell in chunks through out the squeeze because it's fucking impossible to predict or time the peak
We're talking about huge funds with collateral in the billions. They're not going to cover themselves into an infinite squeeze because fluctuations in the hundreds of millions are manageable for them and they can afford to cover AFTER retail short sellers bankrupt themselves.

I fully expect this to be more like TLRY. Shorts were covering gradually throughout the entire rally. TLRY was basically a 10x from the start, ***BUT*** the peak squeeze itself was only a 2x in a couple days

trust me i have an entire fucking folder of different short squeeze patterns

sell in chunks, just average out your gains
do you think someone here has a crystal ball?

alternatively, look at short squeezes in the past. It's also possible this could just be a two-day squeeze like TLRY (instead of a massive squeeze like KODK) since it's not like hedge funds will actually cover themselves into an infinite squeeze

>Is this GME thing not even about a squeeze? Just a turnaround?
i mean at this point i've done enough DD to believe I can also long GME with a smaller position
BUT you should still sell if it squeezes because it will predictably dump hard. Buy puts on day 2/3 of the squeeze buy the dip after at least a month

it'll probably look like the top chart of TLRY

Compare two very different squeezes, KBIO >>23134311
and pic related. It should tell you these are unpredictable and targets prices are kind of meaningless.

if it wasn't for the fact that there will potentially be more news coming out, i'd be trimming my profits on Friday or Monday since it will probably dump back down a bit even if there's still overall an upwards trend, e.g. see TLRY
