You're supposed to trade your silver for gold when the price ratio comes down a lot, when it becomes 1:15, 1:8 or even lower.

Am I the only one who noticed the last few weeks gold has been shilled a lot? Many OPs had only gold, many times gold was suggested when someone asked what to stack. Many asking what to stack next after having a weird ratio like 1:10 or 1:30.
Gold is currently a distraction from silver at this ridiculously high silver:gold price ratio.
The general agreement is to get gold:silver at 1:100 weight ratio if you're skeptical of the physical silver squeeze. If you believe it's going to happen you can stack even more silver, at a ratio like 1:200, 1:500, etc.

I hope he's right, everyone would quadruple their physical silver stack.

Historically, the gold:silver rarity ratio was reflected in their price ratio.
Every time the ratio deviated in one way you could profit from playing this price ratio.
If the gold:silver price ratio is 80:1 (which is different than the normal 15:1) then you would sell your one ounce of gold to acquire 80 ounces of silver. If enough people do that there isn't enough silver to give 80 ounces for every ounce of gold if there are only 15 ounces of silver existing for every ounce of gold. When the supply cannot be provided at a low price then the price must go up, so you'll be able to get only 70 then 60 then 50 and so on until 15 ounces of silver for your ounce of gold and the equilibrium is restored.

When the shortages happen your food won't just magically appear in the fridge anymore kek.
The premium on silver is irrelevant. Even with the premium silver is 4x undervalued compared to gold (5x undervalued based on spot price). At this moment, the usual advice and the safest bet is to get 100 ounces of silver for every ounce of gold.

There's a reason the general advice right now is to hoard both gold:silver at 1:100 weight ratio.

They're linked because silver is physically 15x more common than gold, or at least it was until recently, it's a physical matter, not one decided by the governments.
Now silver is mined in 8x higher quantities than gold, and the above ground reserve ratio is unknown, currently there could be only 5x more silver than gold considering all the industrial usage of silver that cannot be recovered at all.

Just think if you put all of that fiat cash into winning lotto tickets instead it would have grown even faster! You can’t predict the future so you go with the safest long term bet, silver.

/pmg/ isn’t a hivemind, different people here have different strategies. I am still 100% silver till the GSR falls to at least 50 but I can see the wisdom in acquiring some gold now with the price falling. The “silver squeeze” if it does happen will play out over the course of months not days.

Not him but I’m going to start buying gold at 50, swap a little silver over at 30, but waiting for something closer to 8 or 10 before trading in mass amounts of silver for gold.
