I had amazing performance and they groomed me for a promotion to the 2nd tier of my IT role. asked me what my salary expectation was, and then told me that my promotion was in the budget. Then days later they told me "lol actually we found out the tier 2 of your position isn't going to exist sorry you're not getting it " so I professionally companied about it and asked them a few questions about why they groomed me for the role if it wouldn't exist, and why they would say that when the role did in fact exist, in the process I pissed my bosses boss off asking too many questions I guess. my performance review went from ones and twos (almost perfect) to threes and fours. then the next week I was fired after they said I fucked up a piece of documentation for a case. somebody here actually predicted me being fired after I mentioned the performance review retaliation. Didn't believe it at the time but that anon was right. live and learn I guess
