Link will die...who whoa whoa whoa...yep and here is why. Link is special, well not special, but what makes it what it is the ERC-223 standard, yes ERC-223 look it up. It allows tokens to make contract calls.

The USD Value goes down during balancing without additional liquidity. Think about what I just wrote. It's the precipice to a "runaway condition", a death spiral accelerated by the STA price decreasing.
