>people are expecting the companies that change our society to always deliver the best returns but that is not how it works and historically that is never how it worked.

>Look at Spotify it come out ten years ago and completely changed how we listen to music, but they still havent figured out how to make any money
Man. You're just all over the place. Big tech, constituting the majority of QQQ, made profits for years, constantly increasing them each year together with revenue. They don't need to find a way to be profitable. They have been profitable for years.
Wtf. You want with Spotify? This is boomer "dot-com bubble" talk.

>If you look at historic data, large cap growth like Microsoft and Amazon is favoured to lag the market the next ten years.
No it's not. I have no idea what you're quoting but now you went from "past indicators do not predict the future" to "this Youtuber said that in the past ..."
There is absolutely no case for Microsoft or Amazon to lag behind the market. None.

>meaning if you buy QQQ and hold it for the next ten years your expected returns are much lower then the expected returns of the broad market
And on what, pray tell, would you base that confident statement of yours?

>Microsoft will no doubt still be a big company in 2030 but that doesn't mean they will deliver the best returns in the next ten years.
That is correct. But unless computers stop to be a thing they will grow, and much faster than the earth bound companies of old that make the SP underperform compared to QQQ.

We are all looking for a way to outperform QQQ and on 4chan we are contrarians as well. But there is no argument against big tech, unless you really believe in the "big break up" or whatever. If that's the case, then sure, adjust. If you believe in some reverse 10 year patterns of historic mega cap performance and want to be a contrarian trader betting on XOM and KO? Tread lightly.

My advice: Just buy big tech. Don't try to be a hero.
