Yeah, seriously. I've held BAT to the point where I don't give a shit anymore. I can hold anything to 0 from any price, try me.

Sounds about right to me. That got me thinking; they'll need an easier on-ramp for BAT purchases within the browser as well if they're really serious about developing BAT's utility.

For example if I can use BAT for 1) gaming, 2) paywalls, 3) tipping 4) twitch etc. etc. then it would be really nice to be able to buy more BAT with a click or two from a "new tab" screen. I know this is kind of the point of those Binance/Uphold widgets, but I want something from Coinbase. Imagine being able to set up reoccurring Coinbase purchases of BAT from within the browser. Would be amazing.

Also being able to sell things for BAT and earn BAT more easily within the browser would be amazing too, but I imagine that'll be way in the future.

That's at least partly true, from seeing all the pajeet posts on the subreddit. But we need the discord pajeets that spam shill dogshit vapoware on /biz/ to be obsessed with BAT.

>Reminder: You can also buy gift cards with your BAT from the browser.

isn't that still only in Nightly too? I've been sending BAT from Coinbase to my browser (uphold) pretty consistently the past few months, just to tip/donate. Still feels too complicated for normies though. Would be fucking great if I can start using it for cool shit like buying Spotify accounts and getting past paywalls. That's the future.

>BAT
>being the "biggest gainer" in any year, ever

top lel. The tokenomics and/or team are NOT letting this shit take off. My theory is that they're deathly afraid of SEC retaliation since BAT's ICO was such a disaster. Brave and Co. know that the second their token pumps, they will have SEC/other government all over their ass investigating into some pump and dump possibilities.

Unironically Brave/BAT's downfall is that they try to be TOO above the board, they are trying to be a legitimate company in a world of scams. SEC can't trace most of these scams or hold them accountable; it's too much work and costs too much time/money. Brave/BAT are pretty straightforward on the other hand.

BAT pumps and all of a sudden Brave is getting investigated for holding millions of its own token which it spawned out of thin air. They're scared shitless of getting fucked before Brave truly takes off, so they suppress the price through third parties. That's just the way it is. Who knows how long it will go on.

The CEO from "BlockFi" was doing an AMA over on the BAT project subplebbit today: https://old.reddit.com/r/BATProject/comments/etem3t/im_zac_prince_founder_ceo_of_blockfi_ask_me/

looks like they might be adding BAT in the near future, you'd be able to earn interest on BAT through them. I'm not sure how it works, at all. I mostly steer clear from that type of thing but he seemed legit.

No, they update it manually in large clumps. But still, seems like a lot of the ad campaigns are being funded by the UGP.

Would buy more while the price is dirt cheap, but just to forewarn you: so far, BAT has been nothing but a bad investment. You need to be willing to give the project a chance, DYOR, and if you don't think it seems like something worth investing in, don't do it.

I think a lot of people have gotten burned by BAT because it seems like such a good project but the price action is truly pathetic.

Interesting. 40% of the market is unrealistic but even cornering a small % of the market will cause pumps and huge speculation, add in a bunch of utility that the team is constantly working on, and $20 / BAT isn't completely out of the question even at say 5-10% of market share

>pullback definitely sounds likely

I've also been thinking this, but mostly based off of "it's too good to be true" hunches. I think I've been jaded ever since the Coinbase listing pump & dump. That's where I expected BAT to kind of catch on and take off, and instead it preceded that big depressing dump and a stagnant drop to 10 cents. In the long run that appears to have been healthy but at the time it hurt and I'll always be weary of future pumps.

>>Advertisers basically pay the user to view their ads.

This isn't exactly accurate. Advertisers are paying Brave for an advertising campaign, as they normally would (Advertiser pays Google $X).

The difference is, Brave takes its cut and uses the rest in the BAT ecosystem (Advertiser pays Brave $X, Brave uses $X to buy $BAT, part of this $BAT goes to creators/users). It may seem dumb to brainlets who can't comprehend how it works, but it's genius because it incentivizes online advertising in a way that's never been done before.

You're definitely a late adopter but the earliest FUD against BAT was done by PRL holders, there was a fierce rivalry right before the bullrun
