Toyota is barely competing with Tesla on non-ICE vehicles, let alone their electrified ones. Battery costs are coming down so rapidly that almost no one will buy an ICE regardless of if they prefer them. Whatever history Toyota has is irrelevant, their lack of EV interest and development made their hill to die on.

Do people no longer even google shit for two minutes to at least appear they have any idea of what they are talking about?

EVs not only have cheaper maintenance, the total cost of ownership is lower. Battery prices are only going to keep falling and widen the gap even more.
