Yes, the new monetary system will be backed by precious metals. It is inevitable and the writing is already on the wall. Gold and Silver will be money again. It always was money, people just forgot. However, because metals have huge monetary drawbacks in a modern digitized world, particularly as a medium of exchange, it will be combined with the technological advantages that a digital currency system provides. You will have a merge of the two - not one at the exclusion of the other.

What we are going to see is what you call "tokenized" precious metals transferred digitally on a global public ledger - the value of the crypto that is used will not be tied to the value of the asset that is transferred. So no, it won't be a cryptocurrency money standard - it will be a cryptocurrency infrastructure platform; a payment mechanism that allows the exchange of tokenized Gold & Silver as real money instantly, with no middlemen, with close to no fees, and cross borders. It will become the perfect money.

If you don't believe me, I don't care. Most of the information is already in the public domain. The only question left to answer is which blockchain they will use as the payment rails.
