it's shit. I just inherited a bunch of US bonds. I wanted to cash it all out, and put it in the market (just like Jerome wants me too). I only ended up cashing out some of it, cause income tax is insane, and I don't think I can beat it with stock growth. And that's just Federal tax. Luckily I don't pay state tax on these.

went on a spending spree today, thursday, and Friday cause I had a lot of cash from cashing T Bonds on Thursday. didn't get the best prices on everything I bought today (some of it is down), but i was planing to hold long anyway.

I still have a bunch of T Bonds, but I don't wanna cash them cause they'll be taxed at 24% or even 32%, and I'm not confident I can make that back through the market. So I'll wait till next year to cash them I think. Maybe I didn't do the math right.

should I cash out my US bonds and put the money into the stock market? they're at about 1.48% interest.

I've been 88% in bonds for a very long time now. Firstly, cause my grandparents never told me that they bought me those bonds, but also, cause I'm retarded. Had I bought stock at the very top, right before the 2008 crash, i'd have been better off holding through the entire great recession than staying in bonds all this time.

I mention this cause, how the fuck do you know when to get into the market, if you're gonna hold long term? Unless you really think that you can time the bottom, seems like the best time is now, regardless of when 'now' is.

I dono much about investing or finance, but I got a lot of money from bonds that I inherited. is inflation gonna kill them? I guess that the market is going down cause everyone is selling, but they're not just holding the cash, are they? what are they buying with it?

I just inherited some EE and I Bonds. When do I sell them? after the "Final Maturity Date"? Before that? I'm too retarded to understand yield curves and everything I'm looking up on investopedia right now. Do i have to pay back-taxes on the interest that they've been earning all this time (the oldest was issued in 1995).
