What happens is you get a rubberbanding effect where when institutions start buying bonds again the yield will be pulled back down and we aren't seeing that.

I think the idea is that as the bond yields go up it's like loading a gun, and eventually once one institution jumps ship from the equity market into bonds, prices in the equity market gap down, causing more institutions to jump ship, and so on.

I'm pretty sure this market movement isn't a transition from equities into bonds but due to fear of that actually happening, which is why growth stocks are collapsing.

The standard I've always heard about was one third goes to cost of food supplies, one third to wages, one third to utilities/rent.

It is not too late, anon. The bear market has potentially ended and the uptrend is starting up. You will regret not buying now. Not right now, because there is going to be a massive correction soon, but what I mean to say is that you will regret sitting on the sidelines instead of buying in. The upside is immense, as you should know if you've really been following since 2012. The "you didn't buy at X, Y Z etc" meme is true.
