I only skimmed it, but I’ve been following the repo stuff for a while: if you haven’t, basically what’s happening is a bunch of the world’s banks don’t trust each other enough to lend money betwixt themselves (they don’t think they’ll get paid back), which is an integral part of the core of banking itself. So they raised the interest rates required to borrow from one another (this is because fractional reserves) to price in that risk, and they hit something like 10% in September all of a sudden which is obviously a problem considering we need them to work together or we don’t have access to our money. So, the fed essentially stepped in and said, like an angry parent breaking up two siblings fighting over toys, to knock it off, fine, I’ll just print a bunch of billions of dollars and *I’LL* lend it to you guys, if you pay ME back the next day.

Boom, both kids satisfied for a little while.

But daddy won’t just give them toys whenever they bitch forever and ever, as they get used to the free shit and bitch even louder, give me more toys. I’ll let you fill in the blank of what happens when daddy decides they need to be taught some discipline.
