I honestly don't know. It's a burden preventing quitting the rat race. Same for a wife, really, unless she has the same mindset, but her biological clock will tick and you wouldn't have the final word over it.
I unironically only need 500K-600K€ to quit, I can just live off divies. My yearly spendings, including rent in the most pricey area of the country (France, Paris), is ~22K€/y. Add-in +2K€ give or take when I travel for an entire month on the other side of the world every 2 or 3 years. The only thing I don't know yet is healthcare spending, as I'm young and it's covered through national social security. Though I guess I could still retain a small job for a day a week or something at some charity organization or some shit that need employees.

And I'm halfway through it. Not even accounting for the inheritance in, unfortunately, ~15 years. Having kids wouldn't allow me to even think of quitting the rat race.
