>If it doesn't keep up then mining power will coalesce to fewer hands with economies of scale and it will become a centralized shitcoin.

You are right and those appreciations happened due to game theory and will continue to happen.
And regarding centralization that will end with moore law.

In 5 years the last asics built due to moore law limits at 3nm will be used to heat greenhouses for crops and such type of activities that turn the excess heat into a product destroying centralized mining in the process as there will not be ever again a new asic model.

>do you think the republicans will let the usd lose hegemony without a fight?

The only way they can perserve it is by adopting free cryptos and integrating them with usd settlement layers.

There is nothing preventing china or any other nation creating their own crypto and cryptos are swift / cash integrated on steroids , the only thing that allowed the usd to remain post 1971 as the dominant currency was swift.

The eu settlement system & china swaps with other central banks & cryptocurrencies all undermine that.

They will lose that , if they frontrun the adoption nobody will be able to change the usd as a reserve currency since usd integrated with cryptos will win against chinese panopticoin.

If they want to create two orwellian cbdcs the biggest one will win.

People seem to forget that 50 years ago the biggest usd cash bill was 10k usd which is 250k usd today.
Yet the usa does civil forfeiture for people moving 3k usd on cash on their own routes.

Their system is broken and they want to patch it instead of fixing it , bad game to play i say.

not saying Bitcoin is going to replace to dollar but the sheer fact that the digtal gold narrative is being pushed by the Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times, The Economist, CNBC, Hedge Fund Billionaires, Michael Saylor, insurance giant Mass Mutual, the Guggenheim Fund, etc is unreal considering that in 2017 this shit was a joke ponzi scheme. It seems if only a fraction more of institutions and rich buy this narrative, this shit is going to go nuts considering the scarcity of the supply which makes it a very comfy hold

You might want to look at what has happened during the last 3 years when ETH was .15 BTC and it is now .03 BTC. ETH pumps and dumps but the long term trend has been it has slowly and consistently been bleeding against BTC.
> nonsensical
yeah to a noob retard. all that matters in crypto is sats value and performance against BTC. outperforming fiat is easy and doesn't count. if you are taking more risk holding ETH or other alts, the whole point is you should be rewarded for that risk. ETH has not rewarded for that risk.

You forgot to mention the fact that democratic faggots are going to increase regulation and want to make smart contracts illegal.

If the enviroment turns hostile only btc & xmr will be safe due to small blockchains , bch will probably be safe and so will ltc.

But they can attempt to grab smart contract coins by the balls , i would like to think they will fail but many in smart contracts coins are CUKHOLDS , you can see in cardano or ethereum communities the ammount of faggots there is building layers for regulators thinking the regulators are like their kindergarten teachers while in reality they are like the barbarians about to sack rome.

So while i would be sure crypto will endure regulations smart contract cryptos are full of cukholds in their communities who will take out their pants and let themselves by fucked by regulators thinking it will be bullish.

If you also want to be comfy, it makes no sense to own anything besides BTC right now. No worries if your shitcoin ratios is going to fall or keep up with BTC. No worries about a rug pull. No worries about founders dumping. If BTC dumps, your alts will tank harder.
