pic related is the most disingenuous thing i've ever seen. i've labelled it for more accuracy.

1971 was in effect a debt default. the US could not pay it's debts by gold. and by force of arms made the world accept USD for trade. greatly helped by the maneuvering to get the USD as the sole accepted medium for ME oil.

1971 really wasn't that bad. i expect most people to carry on with their lives normally if/when it happens again. only the dragons hoarding gold will notice. if a reset does occur, gold will most definitely be too expensive for the average person. most people only care about being able to feed themselves.
