To this day, whenever I'm at Target or whatever and walking past a young mom looking at the Lego aisle with a kid in tow, I can't look. I keep remembering my mom's absolutely dejected face at the thought of not being able to buy her kid his favorite toy while trying to raise him in a shitty studio apartment. I fucking hate myself for making her feel that way.
