Depends on what you want to have. Do you feel like you need a small gold coin? Gold is a very safe investment. Or do you feel like silver might boom hard? Silver is a little bit more speculative than gold but will be a safe haven too if (or when) a big run for precious metals ends up happening. In the end though, either should be considered a nest egg so to speak, something you wouldn't want to sell the instant you get some gains. They'll be there for you if a hyper-inflation scenario ends up happening, basically.

Personally, I'd like to recommend gold but do note that at such small capital you'll only be able to buy a small gold coin. Now that's not a bad thing by itself, it's just that you have to pay a hefty premium fee for a smaller coin because of jewery. So if you want to have a good "bang for you buck" in the way that a big part of your money doesn't go to the seller's pocket instead of the metal itself, you should buy 1oz silver coins or bars. With silver there's also the added bonus of being able to stack them if you like that sort of thing. Do note that some places have a VAT on silver tough.

No matter whichever you want to buy though, get .999 purity bullion imho.

Don't worry about the price especially if it's a small purchase. You're not looking for gains, you're just trying to preserve your wealth. Make periodic purchases if you want to avoid price swings over time.

Keep adding to your stack and you will soon be like pic related

can you give me a sense of the amount of capital and the scale? I'm pretty sure I'm a bit too "cash-poor", but I'd like to get a better sense of these costs in general.
