based.

>anything new? dates on publisher ads or self serve? new DAU numbers? anything?

literally nothing but I haven't been following anything closely, recently. I did transfer some BAT to my browser from Uphold and plan on tipping some sites again, haven't done it in a while.

I haven't seen any blog posts/etc. about BAT donations recently. Pic related was from Archive.org last year and was nice to read at the time, sadly they got shot down this year due to copyright violation. Wish more content producers/websites/etc. would post about how much they've earned or haven't earned through BAT tips.

>paying to advertise to pajeet neets
objectively not true

>People who watch BAT ads are poor because they don't value their time
also not true, I have Brave rewards toggled on at work. In fact, you save time on Brave by turning off trackers, malware, and third party advertising. You're wrong on all counts

>Won't pretty much everyone just cash out what they have and not actually tip any website?

A few reasons, from what I've seen, not to "cash out":

1. You have to KYC to cash out.
2. People are lazy. It's much easier to just spend BAT through tipping at the moment than cashing out, especially when you only have small amounts of BAT in browser wallet.
>am I really going to KYC to take out my $1.37 worth of BAT? Na, I'll just donate it to this website that I like
3. Early adopters want this shit to work, so they're more prone to participating in the desired ecosystem to encourage creators to sign up.
4. Some people are genuinely looking for ways to support certain creators/get support from their user base, and see BAT as an easy/useful way (rare, but Archive.org kind of falls under this - pic related)
5. Combination of the 4 issues named above

My fault I misread what you wrote. You're correct but it's not that simple.

In reality Advertisers are simply buying ad campaigns in fiat, same as they would with Google, but Brave uses that to purchase BAT, part of which is distributed to users who are "targeted" by the online ads. So they're basically sharing the revenue as an incentive for users to allow advertisers to target them.

It's genius considering adblock is so easily accessible / free these days. Brave/BAT just fucking make sense to me. I was an early adopter with Chrome back in the day because it just made sense to me. Now Brave comes along and blows it out of the water in every traditional way, plus it has this cool cryptocurrency aspect added to it, I just don't see anything competing with it. It's the best online browser, period. In almost every aspect.

I do use it. I earn BAT through Brave and donate it to verified websites I like. CodyKo (zoomer youtuber) is verified on youtube for instance. CoinmarketCap is verified and I use the fuck out of CMC, so I donate to them too. It's all about finding newly verified Brave creators every week and sharing the BAT.

They gave out Bitcoin for free too in the beginning, remember BTC faucets? Remember the dude spending 10,000 BTC on pizza?

It's called tokenomics. You can only get like 10-50 BAT at a time for free from the grant, and that's every few months. Brave "users" can get BAT from BAT Ads for free but that's by using the Ads system, which advertisers technically paid for.

At some point the UGP (BAT grant) will run dry. But while it's running, the price of BAT can still increase for loads of reasons, and as it does, less BAT will be given out. Once this thing starts having high utility, high speculation, and less supply, price could shoot up big time. Especially if big advertisers start to on-board with big bags of BAT.

The thing with a lot of these big websites, is that even if they get verified, they're not going to make much money from it unless they explain Brave/BAT to their users.

archive.org had the right idea when they made this blog post. If you explain Brave/BAT to the people that use your website, and get them to participate, you stand to gain a lot more early on than just becoming verified. That being said, tons of 4chan users use Brave and BAT so yeah 4chan could gain a lot becoming verified. I get the feeling the mods/jannies are very much against Brave though, maybe because Moot literally works for Google.
