I can somewhat related to this. I've been addicted to opiates for the my whole adult life, 15 years, and I don't think I have another relapse in me as each one last about 2 or three years. If I've learned anything through all of this, its that the drugs only make everything worse. It's short term relief traded for long term pain. The further you make through life with out hitting the major development milestones, the harder it is to gain any ground. You're just treading water if your lucky.
