Inflation is something we should always monitor. That said, people who are concerned about #inflation usually are not fully understanding:

1) FPY does not mean the inflation rate.

The FPY refers to how many new tokens are coming into circulation if one person staked for an entire year.

For the inflation rate to get to the FPY rate, 100% of people holding FLASH would have to stake 100% of their tokens for 1 entire year.

This is quite impossible considering how many tokens are on Uniswap, added to LPs in the protocol, and simply held/forgotten.

2) Additionally, even if everyone staked, the FPY gets lower and lower the more tokens that are staked. It can in theory get all the way down to 0.01%

FPY started at 50% and is already down to 25%

3) Unlike Bitcoin or Ethereum or any other asset, tokens are only added to circulation when people stake. If nobody stakes, the inflation rate would literally be 0%

4) When tokens are staked, tokens are temporarily taken out of circulation by an amount of 2-10x

5) The market sets the inflation rate through their actions

If people believe inflation is too high, they won't stake, and interest rates will rise. Vice versa is also true.

This makes it to where inflation can never be "too high" or "too low"

It is what the market dictates.

6) While Flash will still most likely be inflationary, it does have burn mechanisms in place when people early unstake. There have already been 400,000+ tokens burned.

Last note. We offered 21M tokens to the world. Even with that many tokens given away, and even with the most amount of staked happening in the first week of the protocol, there are still only 18M tokens in circulation with a large portion of those tokens locked for extended amounts of time.
