The European Commission's continued debate over whether to reauthorize glyphosate--the world's most widely used herbicide, chiefly marketed by Monsanto (MON) under the Roundup brand--is entering the final days before the current authorization expires on June 30, leaving the agricultural industry to ponder its next move. That could come in the courts: "If the glyphosate approval fails, industry experts predict hundreds of lawsuits against the EC to be filed almost immediately," officials for the National Grain and Feed Association write in a newsletter to members. A proposal to temporarily extend the authorization failed to garner the necessary majority earlier this month.

It'll get rejected most likely, and if it does it will have a bunch of failed lawsuits in an attempt to not go belly up.
