Just moved to a very rural town and I'm considering starting a small home based business. Does anyone have any personal experience in starting or running one?

I'm looking for something with low startup and decent potential for growth.

There's a lot of craft shops around here with some pretty nice things but I'm in the South and many don't have an online presence. Could I cherry pick items that I think I could sell for more money online? Or has Etsy saturated the craft market?
