I think BYND had put themselves in a difficult spot with their fake meat. It strikes me as being a lot easier to reverse engineer their product than it was to develop it in the first place, after all people already know it's essentially pea protein and oil. I'd be shocked if most big food companies and even AMZN weren't running mass spec and stuff on it right now, if there's an AMZN branded fake meat that undercuts it in price they're done for. I do think a lot of the selling power of fake meat is that it provides an almost religious sense of absolution in the consumer, even if it's bad they feel like they're good people for not hurting the animals and being """"good"""" for the environment. I think WMT/MCD would have a hard time selling their own versions because people associate those brands with being lower class and bad for the environment, whatever that means.

Good lord that can’t be good for you. Also NBEV’s Xing tea is VERY popular with the upper middle to upper class pot smoking hipster demographic already. A CBD drink would be killer. Only problem is they’re full of sugar (I literally puked from drinking a blueberry one once). The people who’d be buying them are acutely aware of nutrition, they need to make a zero calorie drink or they won’t compete.
