Drop all the larp? Okay. Bitcoin isn't a currency. It's a virtual trading good that has no intrinsic value. Compared to DeFi and Dapp/Smart Contract shitcoins it will one day be utterly useless in its current state. It can handle what, 4 transactions per second? That is laughable. It will NEVER be used the way it was intended. It will be horded by whales and used by them to suck the life force out of the average Joe that came to learn a thing or two about crypto. Sure, some might make a bit of money along the road. A couple will even become rich. But on average, you are getting fucked.

One day in the future a similar idea like todays crypto will be the norm but this is at least 20 years into the future, if not way more. I predict we will see a fall of bitcoin in 5-10 years and it becoming worthless again plus some ethereum-like coins pumping absurdly for a couple years. But it's impossible to predict. Sure you can buy 1000 XLM or ADA today and maybe it will take off wildly 2030 but this depends on a dozen factors. Just treat it like gambling and do not spend more than 10% of your DISPOSABLE income each month. Do not leverage, never go in debt just because you think you "understand crypto after all these years".

Don't know if this is the right thread but I'm gonna ask here anyway. I want to gift a wallet of current crypto to a newborn. You know how some people buy fine wine or the newspaper of their birthday for the child of a close friend to give them when they are 18? Now the actual process is of course no problem but I was thinking of making it hard/impossible to actually open the wallet before 2039. Is there a way to make a wallet only accesible from a certain date onward? Or to free a password after a certain time has passed? I know I could just hold onto it but if any of the coins go to the moon the temptation would be severe for the parents to use the wallet themselves before the kid is of age. So far I only came up with depositing the password on paper in an actual bank with a timed account. I live in germany if this is relevant.

Don't know if this is the right thread but I'm gonna ask here since shibes are usually helpful. I want to gift a wallet of current crypto (not necessarily DOGE but surely part of it) to a newborn.
