Maybe I just won the wagie lottery but I literally walked into a local store 5 days after quiting speed with no degree in tattered clothes, told the interviewer I wanted to fix my life and get better clothes and would take any shift and any extra hours so I wouldn't be home alone, started in a weekend position filling in shifts whenever, and 3 years later I'm managing the store and have zero debt and make more than most of the people I knew in high school with degrees who work 2-3 part time jobs to pay off loans
like maybe if I had a life or enjoyed doing things I would be unhappy but it's basically a gym that pays me to work out and most of our customers are batshit insane backwoodsmen and nice little old ladies who tell me I look like their husbands back during the war and how happy I'll make my wife and they invite me to feed carrots to their horses after work and tell me stories about growing up before the freeway got built
