Can we talk about the probability of Workhorse actually getting the USPS contract? From looking at the competition, the only other one that stands out is Oshkosh. I know EV is "The future" but you have to remember that the USPS has been using the same vehicles since the 80's and 90's - they are looking for a product that will last them approximately 20-30 years going forward if I had to make a guess. Workhorse vans only have an 80 mile range on solely electric power(Although from what I gather also have a 3cyl combustion range extender). Oshkosh is partnering with Ford to refit Fort Transit vans for the USPS and will be using a diesel engine and with no hybrid capabilities. The USPS also knows there will be parts availability and the general reliability of Ford based vans which gives it a distinct advantage over Workhorse.

I want the horse to win, but if you were a government entity, which product would you most likely to choose for an organization that has long cyclical replacement cycles and is always strapped for funding?

So I was talking to my boss this morning, he buys old USPS trucks at auction. He was telling me about how the USPS contract held by Workhorse group was up and that pending which company's design is picked up, they will receive the contract to manufacture the next line of trucks.

I figured I'd share this tip with /biz/ if they didn't already know and together we could make some dosh.

>TLDR One of the companies in this article should have their stock moon if they get the contract
