> On WTC vs. AMB

"I'd like to start with Waltonchain, as I already posted in the Ambrosus discord about this. The difference between Waltonchain (WTC) and Ambrosus is quite clear:

Walton provides mere RFID-based position tracking. That's of course useful for applications such as logistics providers, but it's a far cry from the integrated sensor suite as proposed by the Ambrosus team. Simple use case: Your company is tracking their shipments of storage-sensitive produce using either chain, imagine cocoa beans, tobacco, coffee etc. At one point in the chain, there is a problem - a crate gets left standing in the tropic sun for hours, it gets stored in a very humid place, maybe it gets dropped off a forklift. Whatever you have in mind, let's say the content goes bad. Using WTC, you can tell which facilities the crate went through after discovering the problem. Of course, if the problem persists and if you investigate further, you might get a good idea which part of the supply chain might be to blame - but actually, WTC gives you no idea at all at which point in the chain the problem occurred before you noticed there was something wrong, and gives you no way of attributing responsibility to a specific facility or logistics partner. Ambrosus on the other hand would give you the exact time and position where the problem occurred, and could even automatically alert the logistics manager responsible to prevent the problem from ever occurring, for example immediately when the temperature reaches a pre-set threshold. Just as well, it could be used for automatically charging agreed-upon penalties for shipments that were subjected to less-than-optimum conditions by external partners along their way. It's a completely different ball-game to simply tracking the position of your shipment using RFID tags."
