Right so I spent the better part of the last 15 minutes thinking about why there aren't alternate landing techniques for long jump that would increase measured jump distance. They measure from the mark the athlete makes in the and closest to the takeoff board right so how come you can't sort of jump hands first intending to land in to a somersault maneuver thereby hitting the sand with the part of your body that is furthest forward in that point. How come that doesn't work.
