>How in the world are you supposed to do your DD then? I always thought a company's balance sheet was one of the prime factors people use to determine whether or not they should purchase a stock or not. Or is that how it was in boomer times? Should I just look at what a company does and try to infer whether I believe the stock will go up or down?
The long hodl invesmemt thesis is to select good companies with bright futures, don't try to time entry, cost average in once every month or two. Successful companies will trend up overall. Anons screw this up in two ways: 1. they overestimate the durability of the growth phase of company (like going long hodl on hype memes that don't turn profit and won't fir years). 2. They abandon ship on their strategy and panic sell.

The random nature of price action in reaction to earnings reports is a problem of shorter term traders who have small tolerance for drawdown, use stop losses, etc.

>heheh I'll see you on Tuesday when oil crashes
I can't believe there are retards here who believe oil will crash and think it'll greatly affect the stock market. Retail is thirsting to buy all the cheap oil next week if ever it MIGHT crash.

>everyone here is banking on another stock market crash
Warren Buffett quote.

>I factored in the "/biz/ not being able to predict 3 o'clock at 2:30".
Nobody can predict the market, faggot. What are you insinuating here?

>But still, the idea that "everyone is getting bullish on oil" is wrong.
I'm not just talking about the retards in this general, but the investors and traders as a whole, including the market makers.

>There are many posters, even after the deal was official that said "not enough! Red oil tomorrow!" even though it is the largest production cut of oil in the history of the universe.
Greed.
