Can anyone here explain to me how Vanguard's day trading policy works? Am I just not allowed to buy and sell the same lot on the same day? And if so, why do limit orders exist? Could I not, in theory, buy 100 shares of a stock and then on the same day set a limit sell order to sell it if it goes up 1%-2%? If it meets that criteria and it executes, does that not qualify as a day trading violation?
