Look i admire your dedication to living in a high altitude desert environment but whats wrong with all the cheap as hell land up in the north? 40 acres for less than 1kan acre is common. Theres enough trees to build any kind of shelter you want and burn for heat. Besides the less daylight you can heat a greenhouse with wood burners and grow most of the year. It gets cold in the desert too so you would also need a greenhouse to keep producing. Water in the forests is also plentiful and there is not the hassle of driving 60 min to haul in water. Please explain to me how the high desert has such an advantage over the northern forests.
