It's not as bad as they make it out to be. They're a bunch of aspies who think just because they shelled out for a CS degree they deserve a job served up to them on a platter. It's people who get you a job, and their people skills are lacking. Maybe at top firms it's hard to find an opening and you have to jump through tech interview hoops. I got my first dev job recently. It was easy as fuck, and I had NO internships (retarded I know). I just reached out to the hiring manager, took a couple of interviews, and got the position.
