Assuming they don't run into anymore issues I think there might be a small delay. Maybe the price will dip considerably but I would invest more at that point. Just look at the state of the official telegram: newfags entitled to everything because they put a few rupees in.

Anyways, the price of link doesn’t affect the economics of how much people will be paying for decentralized data api calls for use in smartcontracts. If the price of link is $1, and each data call costs .50cents, then the price of link could skyrocket 100% to $2. But the price for the data call remains .50cents, so instead of .5link required, only .25link is needed for the call. Now you may be saying,

If you say that, you would be a moron. As demand and usage for the token increases, so too does the equilibrium price of usedcurrencies to LINK (USD, BTC, ETH), out to 18 decimal places. As demand increases, so too does the price independent of exchange or market manipulation. In addition to this, link tokens are required as collateral for data requestors to decrease the risk of the smartcontract. This will drastically reduce the amount of tokens freely available as node operators put up collateral to be accepted for higher value contracts (think million dollar contracts). Then you might say to yourself
>but why would anyone pay to use the network?
Because now contracts can be automated with a guarantee of payout significantly greater than any current model, increasing the trust in getting paid and decreasing the cost to conduct contracts (don’t have to pay third parties anymore, you pay the network).

We’ll get a better idea of how successful this will be once mainnet launches. And remember, the network can also be used for decentralized computation via SGX, which could potentially solve the scaling issue for all crypto’s via celer. So people will pay the network to scale their blockchains, another use case that could transact billions.
