A controversial take is that intelligence is more than just ones mental capacity, but more of a phenotype. Stupid people just tend to "look" stupid. They stink, they are ugly, they are poor, they behave irrationally, and talk immaturely. People try to argue that it's socio-economic factors that lead to these traits, but I would argue that the inverse is what is happening. A poor dumb life is all these people will be able to amount to. It's not a choice, it's not societies fault, It's simply what they were born to be.
