I own a rental home in Delaware that was built in the year of our lord 1988. I've had it since 2008 and since then it has produced me over $250,000 in passive rental income.

Also during that time I've replaced the roof, the entire heating system, the drywall in the ceiling, the drywall on the walls, the water heater, both toilets, both vanities, both tubs, all carpets, twice, all appliances, the kitchen counter and sink, 40% of the original pinewood floorboards, 80% of the floor joists beneath including the main beam, the front wooden deck, the rear wooden deck, 20% of the masonry foundation, and literally all of the dirt under the house.

I replaced the fucking dirt under the house (chronic drainage issue).

What a piece of shit. It's like that old parable about inheriting your great grandfather's axe, exept your grandpa replaced the axe head and your dad replaced the axe shaft. It's not even the same house anymore.

There was an earthquake in DE like 10 years ago so it doesn't even occupy the same space on the earth as it once did and the planet is constantly moving so it doesn't even exist in the same part of the universe as it once did.

At this point I just use it for strategic tax deductions and fucking laugh about it. Biggest disaster of a fucking house ever conceived.
