Well anon, its not exactly "secret" given the hype going around. I mean, the CEO Michael Oved was a partner at Virtu, a high-frequency trading firm. He used to run their North American, South American, and European cross-border trading desks and is a bit of a living legend. In an article that appeared on Bloomberg about Airswap (see below), it mentions that "Virtu gained fame for only losing money on a single day from 2009 to 2014 as it matched buyers and sellers in stocks, bonds, futures and currencies.”

In other words, this is a project led by something of a well-known guy who has Wall Street experience about how markets actually work and wants to create a decentralized exchange tailor-made to attract institutional market participants. Wall Street trading crypto ho!~
>https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-09-28/upending-digital-currency-market-is-next-act-for-ex-virtu-trader

Then are the advisors. I'm starting to place a bigger premium on the advisors and connections that a project has since the bar for ICOs keeps on getting higher and higher. In Airswap's case, they hit it out of the park. Their advisors include:
>Joseph Lubin, one of the co-founders of Ethereum and the man responsible for Consensys (which is backing Airswap), a blockchain-focused software company that is expanding its reach everywhere. If any of you use MetaMask, you're using a Consensys product.
>Bill Tai (aka "KiteVC"), who has invested 110 start-ups (of which 19 went public and 20 were acquired), is well connected to Silicon Valley and Harvard, and was a lead investor and is a board member of BitFury (that huge blockchain company).

Sorry... I don't. If I did, I'd share it right away.

You'll have to look around and see what you can find. Though from what I hear on the slack, space is nearly out.

Fair enough, fair enough~

But if this about raising awareness, as you say, then shouldn't you be doing more to raise team transparency?

I'm not saying that you necessarily have ill intentions, but there isn't much listed on your website about you guys! Out of the 6 team members, there is only one link to a github page and one link to a LinkedIn profile. There isn't a dev blog or such that helps introduce you guys individually, your vision, and what steps you are taking.

If the goal right is to invest in you guys (not financially, but rather in time and attention), then wouldn't help if you provided more to work off of? Otherwise, we're left having to look you all up individually and maybe get the wrong idea.

Just a thought!~ If you can provide more within the next days, I might put in an ETH or two out of curiosity.

*Hai hai!~*

Just a reminder anons: I've pitched this as a LONG term play, mainly because it's a blockchain platform as >>3142117 pointed out (not just a messenger). We need people to build stuff on it for the value to rise, even if that takes some time. So I'm not expecting 0x gains immediately, and haven't said as much. $1 in a few months (barring a bunch of money pouring in and the messenger takes off like mad), maybe. Thankfully, the devs have plans for more services and partnerships from here to the end of the year.

Also OP, keep in mind that the fluffypony (Monero's core dev) is just a technical adviser, though he says really good things about the project (that is, when he's not doing something unpredictable that drives everyone crazy because the man is insane).

And use cases extend beyond darknets. Keep in mind privacy advocates, leakers/whisteblowers, security-conscious people like >>3142398 points out, individuals living in repressive regimes...
The best thing though will be the decentralization. No servers to seize, after all!

OTHER IMPORTANT NEWS:

1) IDEA token, the first token that was distributed by MBRS and one of the projects in their ecosystem, now trading *LIVE* on Etherdelta:
If you held MBRS during August 1st, then the token you received can now be sold. You free money has arrived!! (personally, I'll hold onto mine).
If you want to learn more about IDEA, see here:
Yes, the website is a bit barebones right now, According to the main dev:
>Yes, there needs to be more information. Yes, it will happen a soon as possible.

2) TOV token, which was the token for those who held on August 15th, is coming on Monday. Per the main dev:
>there has been a number of issues with the Ethereum network since the 0x launch, which exacerbated an already boggy network. This is causing some issues with properly calculating the gas cost for many different smart contracts, hence the problems sites like EtherDelta and apps like MetaMask which do automatic gas calculations. And the delays are causing slow refreshing of expired or claimed contracts, and the more clogged it gets, the longer the refresh delay gets and in an exploding market, can add up fast.
>So originally I was waiting for the network to simmer down before trying again, so I am working on trying to get the SlipStream contract to finish off the distribution in 10-12 batchs so as to allow me to verify all transactions manually again. This should not take as long as before, but it will take a little while. We still intend on having the TOVs all distributed by Monday.
TOV token should be tradeable in due time as well fellow (soon-to-be) holders! Look forward to it!

2.5) TOV holders will get another token distributed to them: Descryptoia (DES). More information to come next week.

To everyone: MBRS is still relatively cheap, we still have exchange listings to look forward to, and the Domain token (DOM) snapshot for distribution is only 11 days away!

Almost forgot! I wanted to link the website and Telegram, but 4chan thinks its spam. Sorry! Just google "Embermines" and "Embermines telegram" and you should find them!

PLUS, since I just checked their Telegram, the main dev just posted a few hours ago:

>Okay folks, Cryptopia agrees to host all of our tokens but we still need to pay for the registration fee of 400,000 DOT coins. Getting DOT takes forever unless you want to break the bank, so I would appreciate it if people can snag a few of those at a time, when they can and send them to our Embermine Main DOT wallet, I will repay them in the crypto of their choice at a rate of .000002 BTC/each. I just do not have the time to mess with it and with 6 tokens and marketing to boot, I will need at least three million DOT. At the rate that they sell at now, and keep the price reasonable, it would take forever to accumulate that many tokens and I do not have the time to collect them. So, if you are a Cryptopia user, please collect as many DOT coins as you can and are willing to buy and contact me. I will buy all I can get up to 3 million DOT for .000002 BTC (6 BTC total). This will allow us to register all of our tokens and pay for one month of token spotlight for each coin.

>Here is out DOT address on Cryptopia: 14HcejCNcrwwfzNJE8yEzJ5Av9oNnHd1RM

tl;dr - Cryptopia is pulling a bit of a Bittrex as it did with DNT, though this one seems like it'll be resolved quicker.

Well, if we go with what the main dev is saying, it's not an *if* anon, but a *when*. That's why I've joined in on the recent spike in volume.

And honestly? I don't know. I just know that going from just *one* exchange to multiple others in the span of two weeks should do something to help drive up the price. Long-term, I'm going to hold ALL of my tokens until $1.

Oh now anon~ I've only passed the 6 figures mark, not the 7. And I'm just someone who does research for a living, with short stints in finance, defense, and (recently) international development. The application of blockchain in lowering the cost of remittances is what brought me to crypto.

Hmmm~ That's a tougher one. I can think of two off the top of my head.

The first is the original 1960s document by Paul Baran at RAND, which introduced the idea of distributed networks (though it was in the context of post-nuclear war communications):

The second is The Starfish and the Spider:

A bit more conceptual, but I think they might help!

Nope! You should be fine anon-san.

You see, wallets don't hold tokens; addresses do. You won't be able to see the tokens in MetaMask, but you can see them in MyEtherWallet. You should be fine.

As for MBRS, Drake (the founder) said that the distribution of IDEA tokens should be done by tomorrow (in time for the next distribution!). So that might be it.

If you can't see them remember to add the token symbol with the following info.
Contract Address: 0x814cafd4782d2e728170fda68257983f03321c58
Symbol: IDEA
Decimals: 0

If you *still don't have them, then you should really go to the telegram group and talk to Drake.

PS: some *big* news just dropped in there too! Check it and get excited. It's part of the reason why people are buying up a *lot* of the tokens today.

Well anon-kun, let's remember what 0x (ZRX) is: a protocol that facilitates the exchange of ERC20 (read: Ethereum and Ethereum-based) tokens. Anyone or a company can utilize 0x in the backend to operate a decentralized exchange. So basically, if Aragon is to decentralized governance and DNT is to decentralized marketplaces, then ZRX is to decentralized exchanges. I'm pretty sure someone here on /biz/ could quite conceivably use it to build a version of EtherDelta that is *actually* user-friendly and doesn't look like something from the late 90s. Finally!~

As for the token itself, it's used for two purposes: 1) governance, in which like with DNT, you can stake your ZRX tokens to vote on changes to the ZRX protocol; and 2) relaying fees, as relayers will host off-chain order books and matching engines to match orders of buyers and sellers. When they're matched using the service, they'll pay a fee to the relayer using ZRX. So basically, transaction fees.

Now, since ZRX is operating as an open source project that doesn't really want to make a profit (just provide infrastructure), some people are iffy on how they'd money from this, especially if they're not going to seek listings. In fact, many people don't know how ZRX is going to rise in value!

To that, I say, there for are reasons for short-term trading and long-term holding.

Hai hai! I can help sempais with questions!

Basically, Aragon is platform, built on Ethereum, for creating and managing Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs). In other words, a platform that gives you tools to help run organizations without centralization. You'll be able to create functioning blockchain organizations that can be used to manage voting, share issuance, and set member roles.

Eventually the Aragon network, as a DAO itself, will be developed to arbitrate human decision-making processes. The Aragon network will itself launched with a minimalist constitution. Ths constitution will be amended and added to through a liquid democracy (think of how delegates in DPoS protocols work). ANT holders will be able to cast a vote to change the constitution as well as adjust protocol details such as token issuance.

By the way, one of the reasons this thing is mooning right now is because Aragon provides the governance to District0x (DNT, which is also mooning), which is dedicated towards building marketplaces and communities. So basically, Aragon provides government while District0x provides the markets.

Together, the two will make loads of money!

Also, they're going to integrate SNT for communications ~and~ Protocol 0x (currently taking pre-registrations for their ICO) for token trading! Isn't that awesome??
