Its not a real equity or currency, it uses some cool tech which is neat and all, but its price is quite literally only the result of speculation. There are already better shitcoins out there, that only lack BTC's brand name, and they too can simply be rebranded an duplicated. Sure society could adopt BTC and you could pay at 7-11 for gas, but whats to stop them from also accepting the infinite BTC clones? There quite simply is no inherent value in it like a stock, or real asset, which is why its quite easy for BTC to have super crashes.

Now a digital currency akin to BTC/monero that is backed by PM's, THAT has huge potential for international commerce.
