Despite being a full on boomer, I don’t have a penny in the stock market because of this bullshit. It’s like the market has nothing to do with businesses actually earning money anymore, it’s just this clown world casino where you either bet on the whole thing collapsing or for the fed to keep printing into the biggest asset bubble in history. I just want to buy some stock at a reasonable valuation but I’m competing with people who have unlimited money printed from nothing.

I grew up utterly destitute, in a trailer raised by drug addicted, mentally ill parents. I worked hard anyway and now own 5 properties and a bunch of crypto. I’m a retired landlord NEET and not even 40 yet. Capitalism made that possible. If I felt like OP when I had nothing, I would still have nothing. Goddamn, communists are stupid. How difficult is it to invest in certain small businesses? Or to purchase something like a turnkey operation.
My wife and I live in a city of about a million people. We already are well diversified in equities, crypto, precious metals, as well as 2 properties. 1 is a 2 bedroom condo in a hipster area which we rent out thru Airbnb to hipsters coming to visit. The other is a small 2 bedrooom house located near a major university campus so its easy to find tenants.
We were thinking of buying a small business. Something that takes minimum or no effort, just as yet another form of diversification. Her idea was a car wash. My idea was a small DIY storage center. We have about 200 to 250k to sink into this. Does anyone know anything about either of these? Are any of them viable business ideas? Or are good businesses which make money never sold, only the ones losing are for sale?
