I let my fear of taxation keep me from making short term trades. I always plan to hold undervalued stocks for 1 year+. I'm in the 27% tax bracket and that's with 20-30% unclaimed income. All these opportunities make me want to swing trade in addition to a long-term portfolio. Fuck.
