If i was in your shoes, I would stick to ETFs that cover what you're looking for, but also go ahead and pick a few favorites. Stick to your plan (although I would say you might want to ease on the gas/hoard cash). It's up to you.
Note: I'm incredibly risk averse right now, and I'll stay that way until election time unless there's some ridiculous cheapies. The prices of a lot of great companies are just too high. It's all like fucking TSLA.
Personal favorites that hurt to watch:

>V reaching $200
>JPM and AXP just under $100
>AMD over $50
>MU just under $50
>TMUS over $125
These prices are looking forward to somewhere between 2025 and 2035, hence the rec to stay cash heavy. I'm also very tech and financial adverse because there's nothing to really back up these prices for another five years or so.
