There comes a point where the COMEX becomes irrelevant no matter what rules they change. If 1,000 oz silver bars are selling for $200 an ounce on the open market, but the spot price is still $26, and meanwhile the COMEX is doing what they did the Hunts and saying to everybody "You can't buy silver futures contracts and take delivery any more" then that is a default in all but name only.
