Best thing you can do is start a business. As a startup I would personally recommend getting a franchise because all the marketing and brand-name recognition is already done for you. All you have to do is follow their business plan they prepare for you.

Save up as much money as you can and wait for the next recession. Then I would dump everything in my savings after the market bottoms out. When it rises again you'll come out Rich As Fuck and won't have to answer to nobody

90k GBP. I took some gap years and did some shitty jobs, went to university late to study environmental science (wanted a Sci degree and that needed the lowest grades). Wasted fuck loads of money getting a worthless degree. Tried to get jobs, failed. Then trained myself up (costing a fuck load again) as an electronic engineer specialising in survey hardware (multibeam echosounders, USBL). I could have done that without the first degree, and saved myself three years and a fuck ton of cash. Negotiating up is a good skill, sounds like you're going to do well wherever you end up

Things have changed a lot in the last few years, they're hiring much older than they used to, in fact the average age of the new recruits class is 30, only one guy that was 21 and one dude who's 48. The fact of the matter is that studies show that 85% of unnecessary uses of force are with patrolmen between the ages of 19-29. Not saying you won't get hired, but the old "you're young, tall and like to punch niggers" isn't going to cut it anymore. I reccomend you try to get some experience in a relative field, EMT, firefighter, CO, even military... but most departments are staying away from combat arms troops because when they feel threatened they sometimes snap and revert to combat training in the military... which is good in a school shooter situation but bad when some moron cranks a few rounds into the ceiling of a 7-11 to intimidate the cashier into giving him money and then instead of "two shots to center mass and reassess" he does suppressive fire with innocent bystanders and hides behind a column.

And yes, that literally happened in my agency, and he injured two people, luckily he didn't kill anyone but the city paid gold for that blood. He's sitting behind a desk, for who knows how long, now... he's lucky he has a job.

In the US cops get paid very well, depending on your area, obviously. I start at $60,000 plus great benefits, it goes up to $90,000 in 5 years and with a promotion (like detective) you make over $100,000 just for 40 hours a week. There is a lot of off-duty (security for concerts, construction projects, casinos) and backlog (backlog is just handling emergency calls, and you don't have to write reports) which you can make a lot of money ($200,000 a year is not unheard of if you have no family or life), if you try. The only issue is that right now, cops are in the spotlight, and you'll be wearing a bodycam... but if you're not a fuck-up, you'll prefer it that way.
