Yes, I did it for 4 years including gaps between my teaching gigs where I went traveling or visited home.

It's a good way to save up some money and travel around Asia.

You should teach in a country that pays you well (Korea, China, Taiwan). Teaching in Japan is mostly a meme - you can try JET but it's quite selective and even if you get in, you'll be placed in a small city or town.

Take a job in a big city. Don't take kindergarten jobs. Older kids and adults are less stressful.

Don't take the first crappy job offered to you, and read the contract carefully. You can sometimes negotiate a little bit on the contract - but you won't get anything if you don't ask.

You should be considering 3 main factors
>location
>salary
>working hours (actual teaching hours & any "desk warming" time)

You want to find something that is at least "good" or "quite good" on all 3 of these or your time will probably not be enjoyable.
