Honestly, sometimes it's better to outsource certain decisions to others whose judgements you trust until you can successfully determine how they make those judgements and how you would make yours.

Time horizon is so important, are you investing for tomorrow? Next Week? Next Month? 1 year 5 years 10 years your retirement?

What else is in your portfolio? If you've already got a lot of Apple, it might not make sense to tell you to buy Microsoft since they both deal with consumer electronics (though microsoft is now more of a cloud business and apple is going more towards being a service business)

There's a lot of decisions to make, and you should probably be choosing an ETF if you can't think of stocks to buy. You're at a serious risk of buying a stock someone else is trying to pump, and you'll probably do it after it pumps and right before it dumps.

Do more research and reading. Listen to those podcasts I gave you if you want to understand the market. Fucking watch some mad money, just don't treat him like a god who tells you what to do. But he does make things easy to understand and can give some good ideas.

Honestly you need to be asking better questions. Which means right now you know WAY too little to be fucking around with stocks.

I've tried plenty. Every glenmorangie, la Santa was my favorite. Various Johnnie Walker's, nice and cheap. Glenfiddich also nice and cheap. Bruichladdich is nice and hard, but their classic is like diesel fuel, good for quick drunk, and the port Charlotte has a nice peaty smoke. Ardbeg has more of a medicinal smoke which was ok, but I couldn't get into it. Had a few others, can't remember the names, but I prefer peat well over unpeated, and usually go for neat except for the blended JWs and the Bruichladdich.

I'll try and simplify this as much as I can. My approach is a Python bot (really just a script) that will run on a VPS and either have a simple SMTP server or maybe Twilio integration. It will take a basket of stocks, or maybe just SPY or an ETF to start, and perform some mathematical calculations. That would be the most difficult - selecting your indicators and writing the code that allows your program/script to understand how to interpret. From there it would just operate on a set of rules: when indicator A is X and indicator B is Y, send a text to buy, etc. There are lots of tutorials on GitHub/Google to get you started. This is widely used - the difference is which indicators are selected and how good they are at predicting buys/sells. You can also get into backtesting but I'm not as big into that because market conditions change and history can be nice for guiderails, but past performance is not indicative of future results.
